An Arabica-only espresso with a complex split roast delivers a surprisingly full body and strong roasted notes graced with exotic herbal aromas. When you’re the biggest global producer of coffee, you take pride in your product. World Explorations Rio de Janeiro Espresso is our experts’ creative interpretation of the Brazilian cafezinho, an all-Brazilian Arabica blend honoring the heritage. Coffee tastes vary across this expansive country and our blend’s complexity reflects that. We brought together beans from the Cerrado district, the Espirito Santo state, and the renowned pulped natural processed Bourbon variety from Minas Gerais. One big salute to some of Brazil’s finest growing regions, iconic processing method and revered variety. In the cup, the walnut, sandalwood and herbal notes of rosemary and thyme capture the passion and spirit that lie behind both the cafezinho and Rio de Janeiro’s carioca coffees. This espresso’s dark roast and full-bodied, bitter, roasty character invite the generous addition of sugar or even the drawing out to a longer, smoother cup (à la carioca) with the same volume of hot water as coffee.

Origin
In the cup, the walnut, sandalwood and herbal notes of rosemary and thyme capture the passion and spirit that lie behind both the cafezinho and Rio de Janeiro’s carioca coffees.
Roasting
Espirito Santo beans are roasted separately for an optimal time as to preserve the herbal notes. The beans from the other regions are roasted together in a dark roasting mode and for much longer to enhance body, intensity and bitter notes.
Aromatic Profile
A pleasantly bitter and velvety-textured cup with unexpected walnut, sandalwood and herbal notes reminiscent of thyme and rosemary.
